Frequently Asked Questions

Where is the office located? Or are you virtual?

I offer in‑person sessions in Manhattan and Brooklyn, and I also provide virtual sessions. We can choose what feels most comfortable and convenient for you.

What are your office hours?

My hours vary, so please reach out directly and we’ll find a time that works for both of us.

How long is a typical session?

Sessions are usually 50–60 minutes.

What do I do to get started and make an appointment?

You can call or email me to schedule a session or set up a free 15‑minute phone consultation.

What is the hourly fee?

My fee is $170 for individual sessions and $200 for couples. I may offer a sliding scale in some cases.

How do I pay?

I accept cash, check, and major credit cards, including PayPal.

Do you accept insurance?

I am an out‑of‑network provider. I can provide a receipt so you can seek reimbursement from your insurance company.

Can I cancel an appointment?

Yes, please contact me as soon as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule.

What is a free initial phone consultation?

It’s a 15‑minute call where we talk about what you’re looking for and see if we’re a good fit.

What is the age range of your clients?

I work with preteens, teens, adults, and older adults.

What can I expect in the first session?

We’ll talk about what brought you in, your goals, and what you’d like to change. It’s a space to feel heard and understood without judgment.

What is therapy like with you?

My approach is integrative. I combine traditional talk therapy with mindfulness, hypnotherapy, and mind-body techniques. I focus on helping you understand patterns, regulate emotions, and create meaningful change.

How long will I be in therapy?

That depends on your goals. Some people come for short-term support, others stay longer for deeper work. We decide together.

Do you offer video or phone sessions?

Yes, I offer virtual sessions.

How do I know if you are the right therapist for me?

Not at all. Seeking support is a sign of strength, self-awareness, and courage.

I’ve never been to therapy before. Does that mean I’m weak?

Not at all. In fact, people who go to therapy are people who desire something more for themselves. They know something may not feel right but they do not know exactly what it is and first just need a little help clarifying it. And they know they want something more but just don’t know HOW to get there. I can help them set goals and action steps to get there.

What’s the difference between talking to you or my best friend or family?

I provide a neutral, confidential, and professional space focused entirely on your growth, without judgment or personal bias.

How does therapy work? What do I have to do?

Your main job is to show up and be honest with yourself. Together, we explore, reflect, and practice new ways of thinking and responding.

Is our work confidential?

Yes. Everything we discuss is confidential, within legal and ethical limits.

How long have you been in practice?

I’ve been practicing since 2007.

What are your strengths as a therapist?

I specialize in anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, personal growth, and helping clients understand and transform deeply rooted patterns.

What do you enjoy about being a therapist?

I love helping people reconnect with themselves and create lives that feel more authentic and fulfilling.

Have you been in therapy yourself?

Yes. I believe personal therapy is an important part of being an effective therapist.

What is your educational background?

I hold a PhD from Fordham University and have certifications in hypnotherapy and mental imagery.

Do you prescribe medications?

No. I am not a psychiatrist. I focus on psychotherapy and therapeutic techniques.

Are you licensed?

Yes, I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in New York.

Do you take notes?

Yes, I keep brief clinical notes as part of standard professional practice.

You deserve to feel calm, confident, and whole.
